Welcome to the Secret Garden 🌙🌿
Welcome to our small rustic complex nestled in nature.
If you’ve chosen to stay here, we’re sure you’ll enjoy the birds singing in the garden and won’t mind the occasional little insect that might wander inside 😉.
Please respect the surrounding nature and be kind and considerate toward the other guests (there are only three apartments, each accommodating up to two people).
The parking area is shared, but each apartment has its own dedicated outdoor space.

Address: Via Pratobuscante, Barzio
⚠️ Attention: there is no street number, so please watch the video below carefully to learn how to find the house.
📍 The exact position of the house entrance:

The keys are stored in a key box attached to the driveway gate.
You will receive the lock’s code on your check-in day, after you’ve completed the registration.
Unless otherwise arranged, please leave the keys in the lockbox at check-out exactly as you found them on arrival.
The house is deliberately without internet and TV, as we believe that staying immersed in nature is more enjoyable without the distractions of technology 😉.
However, we understand that you might need Wi-Fi for various reasons. We can provide a portable router for a small additional fee (usually €3 per day for short stays, with discounts for longer stays).
Let us know if you need it!
We have reserved part of the garden for parking.
When you arrive from the main road, you will see a gate in front of you: open it and park on the right side on the grass.
Please be cautious when driving on the grass, especially in case of rain.
Please park near the gate and do not drive up to the house.
We’d like to keep the garden as a space dedicated to relaxing in nature and avoid having cars in front of the windows or leaving tire marks on the grass. 😊
Waste collection takes place from the roadside on specific days.
For short stays, we simply ask you to leave the waste inside the house or under the porch.
For longer stays, you can check the municipal calendar at the following link to know on which days to place the bins outside the gate:
👉 The calendar of waste collection in Barzio
We kindly ask you to separate your waste correctly and store it in distinct bags or containers.
Here’s how to separate your waste:
-
♻️ Plastic and cans → container with a purple bag.
-
📄Paper and cardboard
-
🍾 Glass
-
🍎 Organic waste → only in biodegradable bags
-
🗑️ Mixed waste → in a transparent bag
The house is equipped with a boiler for hot water.
Please note: it’s not very large and needs some time to heat the water. If you plan to take two showers in a row, we recommend not wasting too much water so that everyone can enjoy hot water. 😊
If the hot water doesn’t come on, please check that the boiler is switched on: when it’s working, a small indicator light will be illuminated.
To turn the boiler on or off, use the switch located on the bathroom wall.
If there was hot water at first and then it suddenly ran out, it’s very likely that the boiler has simply used up all the hot water and needs some time to heat up a new supply.
Heating is not available, which is why the house is not rented out during the coldest months.
During the transitional periods (May, September, October), we provide electric heaters to warm up the space.
If the power isn’t working, the first thing to check is the internal switch, located next to the entrance door.
Make sure it is up (in the “on” position).
If it’s already up but there’s still no power, you’ll need to check the main circuit breaker.
The main circuit breaker is located in the house opposite, where the Girasole and Fieno apartments are also located.
To reach it, cross the rope that separates the gardens — to the right of the external staircase, you’ll see some metal doors.
The circuit breakers are inside.
If one of them is down, switch it up to restore the power.
The house can be reached from Lecco by the D135 bus.
Please note that the schedule is quite limited, and there are no rides after 7 PM.
You can check the updated timetable at this link:
⚠️ Attention! The D135 bus follows different routes depending on the specific ride, so it’s important to check which stops are served by each individual bus.
📍 The “Pasturo Comunità Montana” stop is about 700 meters from the house, but it is not always in service.
You can view it on Google Maps here:
🚶♀️ Alternatively, we recommend the “Pasturo Bivio” stop, where buses stop more frequently.
From there, the house is about a 15-20 minute walk on flat ground.

Barzio is about a 30-minute walk from Pratobuscante. However, the small paths are not always clearly marked on maps.
To avoid walking up the main provincial road, we recommend these alternative routes:

A simple route with a moderate incline and beautiful panoramic views.
-
Follow Via Pratobuscante heading towards Comunità Montana (the drivable road, not the bike path).
-
Continue until you reach Via Moglia.
-
Walk a few steps along Via Moglia and then turn right at this point: 👉 link to Google Maps
-
Keep going uphill: the road is straightforward and hard to miss.
You’ll arrive directly in Barzio, surrounded by greenery and away from traffic.
2. Forest Trail (quick but steep)
It’s the most direct and fastest route, but also the steepest.
How to reach it:
-
Follow the bike path heading toward Barzio.
-
Cross the main road using the bike tunnel.
-
Continue on the bike path for another 50 meters.
-
On your right, you’ll find a small bridge crossing a stream (roughly here https://maps.app.goo.gl/nSYyKhDKpwHtddCN7)
-
Cross it: the trailhead is just after the bridge.
This path leads to the Noccoli area of Cremeno, from where Barzio is easily reachable.
3. Path through the villaggio di Capannine
A wide path surrounded by greenery that leads to the village of Capannine and then splits toward Cremeno or Maggio.
How to reach it:
-
Exit to the provincial street 64
-
Turn right toward the main road of the valley.
-
After about 200 meters, you will find Via Pioverna on the left (here https://maps.app.goo.gl/5shdGt6PF9iYJ4Ck8)
-
Follow Via Pioverna all the way to the village of Capannine.
-
From there, two trails will take you to Maggio or to Cremeno.
